Ten books?

So I was tagged by my oldest daughter,

Debbie to share my top ten books. It seems to run in the family - but I couldn't narrow the answers to just one for each category. My youngest daughter has her own answers

here.

I had fun answering these ten prompts. How will you do? Accept my challenge and add your own list of books.

1. One book that changed your life: I have to mention two books that has changed my life.
a. How to Pray by RA Torrey
b. The Power of Prayer by EM Bounds
These books are simple, powerful and practical. What more can you ask from a book?

2. One book that you’ve read more than once: I’d have to say Celebrating the Disciplines by Foster and Yanni. I have to read this over and over because I’m not disciplined enough to put into practice all that is in the book so I have to add a little at a time.

3. One book you’d want on a desert island: I’d have to bring my Bible …not only does it have practical and spiritual wisdom – but it’s 66 books in one! I can read history, romance, practical wisdom, science and I’d have the company of God’s word with me too.

4. One book that made you laugh: The Princess Bride by William Goldman. This delightful book is just like the movie. It is a delight of ‘turn of phrases and wit-isms”. Even the two introductions are too funny for words.

5. One book that made you cry: Letters to an American Lady by CS Lewis made me cry.

6. One book you wish had been written: I wish I’d written the space triology by CS Lewis. The books make great allegory without being too obvious. They are creative science fiction – but they also give food for thought.

7. One book you wish had never been written: I wish The Recluce series by L.E. Modesitt Jr. was never written. LE Modesitt Jr. writes so well but the series really messes with one’s world view. Good becomes evil and vise versa. Then the world pretty much falls apart. Yuch! And the really bad part is that it takes nine books for this to happen!

8. One book you’re currently reading: Right now I’m reading these books; Northanger Abby by Jane Austin and A Swiftly Tilting Planet by Madeleine L’Engle.

9. One book you’ve been meaning to read: The Complete Works of Mark Twain

10. Tag five others: I don’t know five other people that blog.. so help me out and answer these questions on your own.
